Abstract

The research aims to prepare resistance exercises in the water medium to rehabilitate the sprained ankle joint for students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. And to identify the effect of resistance exercises in the water medium on the angles of the range of motion and the strength of the muscles working on the ankle joint in the pre and posttests for the students of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences The experimental method was used and the design of one group represented the research community with female students with sprained ankle joint. The sample was formed from those with sprained ankle joint (second degree) immediately after the injury, and (8) patients were chosen to represent the research sample, who were chosen in a deliberate manner and multiple tests of the dependent variables (angles Flexion of the ankle joint in four directions) (measuring the strength of the muscles working around the joint in four directions) The period of the curriculum was resistance exercises in the water medium that lasted for (8) weeks. For each unit, as it was measured and tested in the pre- and post-tests, the researchers concluded that resistance exercises within the water medium and the prepared rehabilitation program had a positive effect in increasing the range of motion of the ankle joint with movements (flexion angles of the ankle joint in four directions) and reaching the natural range of motion. The resistances inside the water medium and the prepared rehabilitation program had a positive effect on the development of the variables of muscle strength working on the ankle joint (measuring the strength of the muscles working around the joint for four directions) among the research sample.
