Abstract

This study aimed to construct two tests for coordination abilities and to determine their predictive power regarding the effectiveness of the tactical blocking skill for center players in volleyball. The researchers adopted a descriptive correlational approach, deemed suitable for the nature of the research problem. The research population consisted of club players participating in the 2024 Iraqi Women's Volleyball Premier League, with a sample size of 146 players. Two tests were developed: a speed and motor response test and a dynamic balance test, both of which demonstrated acceptable scientific coefficients. The research results showed the feasibility of generating standardized scores and levels for the two constructed tests. The researchers developed an equation for predicting the tactical blocking skill level for center players using the Click & Scout analytical program, based on the factors used to construct the two tests. The results of the linear regression method showed that the color-matching test within the circle had the greatest impact on predicting the effectiveness of the blocking skill for center players (position 3). While the 10.5-meter hop test, using the right leg to go and the left leg to return while holding a volleyball, had a greater impact on predicting the effectiveness of the blocking wall for players in position (2). The researchers recommended focusing on constructing coordination ability tests according to the different age groups of players.
